Hutto to potentially have 2 runoff elections for city council spots

There will likely be two runoff elections for Hutto City Council alderman seats next month.

Places 3 and 6 did not have anyone with at least 50% of the vote required to win the election. As of 9:55 p.m. Saturday, the front runners in those races each had less than 45% of the vote.

For Place 3, Cory Denena (44.07) and Jim Morris (42.90) will likely extend their campaigns. Monekia Kea (13.03) also ran for the spot.

The Place 6 runoff will likely pit Amberley Kolar (42.34) and Aaron King (29.65) against each other. Brandon DeLeon (23.45) and Erin McGowan (4.56) were the other Place 6 candidates.

In a tightly contested race for Mayor, incumbent Mike Snyder will likely be re-elected. He has 51.53% of the vote compared to 48.47% for challenger Henry Gideon.
