Polka Worship in Bartlett Sept. 18
St. John’s Lutheran Church will host a polka worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 18 at 30650 State Highway 95 in Bartlett. The Praha Brothers Polka Band will play hymns and the liturgy, and everyone is invited to attend. A home cooked German meal will be served immediately after the service, which can be eaten at the church or can be taken to go. Desserts will also be available. Though there is no charge to attend the polka worship service, meal tickets are $12, and can be purchased at the door. For more information, contact St. John Lutheran Church at (254) 527-3341.

Smiles for miles
TAYLOR – SayCheese will soon be taking to to the road in their new mobile grilling machine. According to organization president Corey Graef, the non-profit purchased the used food trailer in August, and it is currently being painted and made road-ready for a predicted start date of late October or early November.

COMMUNITY CLIMBS IN REMEMBRANCE
On the morning of Sept. 11, Hutto Fire and Rescue led organizations and community members in the inaugural Patriots Day Memorial Climb at Hutto Memorial Stadium. Led by firefighters, participants climbed 2,220 steps to pay tribute to those who lost their lives Sept. 11, 2002.

HUTTO FIRE RECEIVES PLAQUE
Recently, Hutto Fire and Rescue #3 in Hutto received a plaque from the Masons of Solomon Lodge. The plaque is embedded at the front entrance. Masons from Taylor and the Grand Lodge of Texas Presentation team were in attendance for the ceremony. They were joined by the men and women who serve as a part of Hutto Fire and Rescue along with Chief Scott Kerwood.
