Mayor Brandt Rydell to pass the torch on ghost tour
With Taylor’s economic star shining so brightly, Mayor Brandt Rydell’s hands are pretty full these days, so he’s taking a popular ghost-tour that he has led for years off his plate. Rydell, who is also the vice president of the Taylor Conservation and Heritage Society, and who has spearheaded the Haunted Taylor: History, Mystery, and Murder Tour since 2016, will be handing off the responsibility to other society members for this year’s fundraiser.

Music on Main kicks off fall season Sept. 15

Kids with disabilities to fly with Flying Vikings
Many children with chronic illnesses or disabilities are confined to a wheelchair or limited in their movements due to physical impairments, fatigue or other maladies. But a local nonprofit organization is teaching some of them to soar through the sky, right here in Taylor.

Mixed use development with 456 units planned
A unique mix-used development, which will include 456 residential units, as well as walkable neighborhoods with retail, park space and even assorted “maker’s spaces,’ such as art studios or workshops, inched closer to becoming a reality last week. At the Aug. 25 meeting of the Taylor City Council, city leaders held a public hearing and introduced an ordinance to rezone approximately 22 acres at 3811 N. Main St., directly north of the H-E-B at Carlos G.

World-Class data center campus slated to come Hutto
HUTTO – Another major technology project is in the works for the coveted Hutto mega-site. Dallas-based Skybox Datacenters and its partner, San Francisco-based Prologis Inc., have purchased over 220 acres from the city of Hutto, where they plan to build a world-class campus of data centers. The land is part of the Hutto megasite, a massive tract for strategic development of big businesses on the south side of US Hwy 79 in far eastern Hutto.

St. Mary’s Catholic to host fall festival Sept.11
St. Mary’s Catholic School will host their 88th Annual Homecoming Celebration from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2022 at St. Mary’s Parish and on school grounds to raise funds for the parish. The event will feature live music, concessions, a raffle drawing, games, as well as a silent and live auction. In addition, a barbecue meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for $12 per plate, with an optional dessert available for a donation.
