Taylor ISD superintendent extension, more approved
This past Monday, Jan. 24 the Taylor ISD school board met to recognize Taylor students and student athletes for their accomplishments. The board members were also recognized from Taylor area schools for their hard work and dedication to the district this past year.

Coupland Civic Organization to tour new school
The Coupland Civic Organization will have something new and different for their Jan. 31 meeting. Instead of having a program at the St. Peter’s Fellowship Hall, residents will be treated to a tour of the new and renovated Coupland School facilities hosted by Superintendent Tammy Brinkman. Thank you, Superintendent Brinkman, for your generous offer to show residents the wonderful new building and the renovated old facilities. Of special interest will be the new regulation size gym which Coupland has needed for many years.

Virus cases stay on rise
COVID-19 cases have continued to increase in the last two weeks. Confirmed cases, which include past and current cases reported to the Williamson County and Cities Health District (WCCHD), went up by 15,876 in Williamson County Jan.

GISD determined keep kids in school
Closing school was a measure of last resort, but Granger ISD students are back in class this week and plan to stay there. “We are doing everything in our power to make sure that we keep in-person education,” said Superintendent Jeni Neatherlin, “because we know that is vital to the school district and to the families and the community members of Granger.” Last week, Neatherlin spoke about the state of Granger ISD as it relates to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Scholarship recipient from Hutto sings TSTC’s praises
HUTTO – Richie Cooper, of Hutto, realized early on that he could use his hands and mind to be the technically skilled worker that a company wants. Cooper recently started his second semester at Texas State Technical College (TSTC) in East Williamson County in the Industrial Systems - Mechanical Specialization program, where he is working toward an Associate of Applied Science degree.
