With sunnier days and warmer temperatures, backyard gardens across Central Texas are teeming with life. It’s an exciting time for gardeners as many summer vegetables have started to flower and set fruit. With so many plants in bloom right now, insects are very active.

Oh it’s just Arthritis

Have you ever thought that you are suffering from arthritis, or others tell you, “It’s just arthritis you’re getting old?” Just because you are aging doesn’t mean you automatically come down with arthritis. There are many different types of joint pain that one can have that are not arthritis.

Dear Editor, When Intercraft opened its factory in Taylor, they had to hire over 100 people from Georgetown because they couldn’t find enough qualified employees from this town. The Intercraft company manufactured picture frames.

Jesus in the Feast of First Fruits

Welcome to week three of learning about the feasts and festivals ordained by God! Last week, we moved from Passover to the Feast of Unleavened Bread, which Passover initiates. Unleavened Bread is all about removing leaven—yeast—sin from our lives. Jesus came 2,000 years ago to fulfill the feast and make possible a way for us to be free and rejoin the Creator. I’ll introduce the third event (First Fruits) and connect it to the first two feasts and Jesus’ fulfillment.

When unexpected things happen, I often get myself into a frenzy. I read something once in which the author said that when something disastrous happened, she would simply throw up her hands and cry, “Plot Twist!”
