TSTC Welding Technology program attracting more women
HUTTO – Jessica Krause, of Round Rock, left her job as a pet groomer to enroll at Texas State Technical College (TSTC) in East Williamson County to study Welding Technology. The first-semester student said she was not expecting such a fast pace of teaching.

HUTTO – Last week, children in Taylor visited the truck petting zoo, but prior to the event, they touched trucks in Hutto. The city of Hutto hosted its first ever Touch-A-Truck event during Spring Break.

TDEM encourages residents to report damage
AUSTIN - With severe weather ripping through multiple regions of Texas, the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) encourages citizens to report damage to property by submitting a damage assessment survey. Monday’s severe storms produced large hail, damaging winds and dangerous tornadoes.

Catching two dreams in one equinox weekend

Beekeeping school for families
Keeping a hive of bees can be an educational family experience, according to the Central Texas Beekeepers Association, as well as providing honey for your table and pollination for your garden and flowering plants. Most city ordinances allow up to two bee hives per city lot.

Heavy lifting at state meet
This past Friday, March 18, the Taylor girls powerlifting team competed at the state meet in Corpus Christi. Rylie Dlouhy placed 11th with a total weight of 720 pounds.

It was all green on St. Patrick’s Day as the Taylor varsity girls track team had the competition seeing green at the Riesel Indian Invitational last Thursday, March 17.

Chris Perez struck out 12 batters last Friday, March 18, on the road against Lake Belton. The Ducks blanked the Broncos 4-0 to slide into a tie for second place in District 19-4A.
