Easter Egg-travaganza
his past Saturday, April 16, the city of Taylor celebrated the Easter holiday with its annual easter egg hunt in Heritage Square. Little ones raced across the park to gather eggs filled with treats. The hunts were designated for age groups 0-2, 3-5 and 6-9. Easter egg hunts and events were also held in south Taylor Sunday afternoon. The annual Hood Hunt hosted by the Braided Fade Crew brought families to Fannie Robinson Park for four different age group hunts and a mega hunt.

Taylor ISD talks playground upgrades
New playground equipment, reconfiguring elementary classes and staff compensation took center stage at the Monday, April 18 meeting of Taylor Independent School District trustees. The board approved the purchase at Naomi Pasemann Elementary School of playground equipment because the current playscape needs “significant repair,” said Superintendent Devin Padavil.

Taylor band hits spring high notes
The Taylor High School band and color guard have stayed busy marching to their own beat this spring by bringing home several awards. On Friday, April 8, the band and color guard participated in the 131st Battle of Flowers Parade during Fiesta in downtown San Antonio.

Peep multiverse
If you were in the Taylor Public Library last week, you had a chance to peek at some unique Peeps Ahead of the Easter holiday, the library recent held its Peep Diorama Contest. Children were able to create book-themed dioramas using Peeps, which are colored marshmallow snacks shaped like bunnies.

STORE OWNER TALKS TO ROTARY
Rotarian Jim Buzan, whose family owns 74 Man Store in Taylor, spoke to the Rotary Club of Taylor April 14 about what it takes to open up a small business. He described the thought that had to go into everything from the clothes hangers and racks to the tissue paper inside the bags. He offered insight on things many people forget is part of owning a small business. The Rotary Club meets in Taylor at noon on Thursdays at Sirloin Stockade.
