Geneva Ambrose

Geneva was born on Feb. 28,1935, in Lexington, Texas and moved to Taylor where she graduated from Taylor High School and lived her entire life. She went to Central Texas College in Killeen to earn her degree and become a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator.
She was an innovator and proud of being recognized as the top nursing home in the State of Texas. She was loved by her staff and always recognized their hard work to help residents have a happy, healthy, safe environment.
She was a dedicated mother, always helping the Taylor Volunteer Fire Department by cooking many meals for fundraisers, quarterly feeds and holiday parties with her son by her side. She enjoyed working in her yard at her home, particularly growing flowers.
Geneva was preceded in death by her parents Ellie Ophelia Poston Jacobson and Wilford Bernhardt Jacobson, brother Lester Warren Jacobson, and son David Warren Sikes. She is survived by son Christopher Sikes and wife Eileen, sister-inlaw Carolyn Jacobson, sister-in-law Ruth and husband Marvin Brown, nieces Lisa Rozacky and Husband Larry, Leslie Arnold and husband Stan, Yvonne Brown Griffin and husband David, Lisa Brown McAdams, nephew Bobby Brown and wife Kelli and numerous cousins. She enjoyed time with her dear friends Grace Bulgerin and Virginia Debus, and of course, her favorite visitor at the S.P.J.S.T. Assisted Living Facility Rhett Swick.
Visitation will be from 1-1:45 p.m. on May 12, at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor. Geneva’s Graveside Service will be at 2 p.m. at Taylor City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Rozacky, Stan Arnold, Randy Hobbs, Cameron Hobbs, Lane Hobbs and Dillon McAdams.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the S.P.J.S.T. Skilled Nursing Staff at the S.P.J.S.T. Assisted Living Center staff for all their love and exceptional care.
