Marcella Neal

Marcella Albina Vrana Carpenter Neal; loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-greatgrandmother, sister, aunt and friend; died on June 22, 2025, in Bastrop, Texas. She was 90-years- old.

She was born on Oct.

31, 1934, in Littlefield, Texas, to Stanley and Wilma (Dubec) Vrana.

At the age of 4, her family moved to Granger, Texas, where she grew up on a farm and attended St. Cyril and Methodius Catholic School.

On March 3, 1953, she married Wallace B.

Carpenter and to this union were born seven children, Rudy, Wallace, Mary, Debbie, Wayne, Michael, and William.

Later in life, she married David Neal.

Marcella was a waitress at Sirloin Stockade, The Downtown Cafeteria, American Cafe, the Food Fair, Ferrari’s, Pappa’s and Noack Restaurant. She also ran the Taylor Pool concession stand, worked in the Taylor High School Cafeteria and worked at Mrs.

Walkers daycare center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Wilma Vrana, brothers Frank (Emilie) Vrana, Rudy (Mildred) Vrana, Stanley Vrana and Joe (Betty) Vrana and sisters Martha (Emil) Stefek and Mary (George) Hendrix. She was also preceded in death by her sons Rudy (Linda) and Michael (Carol) Carpenter and granddaughter Darla Brown.

She is survived by brothers William (Sherry) Vrana and Johnny (Diana) Vrana and children Wallace Carpenter, Mary Neighbors, Debbie (Jerry) Fleming, Wayne Carpenter and William Carpenter.

She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Christopher Carpenter, Travis Carpenter, Eric Carpenter, Markell Fitzgerald, Cobey Graves and Bentley Alonzo.

Honorary pallbearers are Trey Fleming, Curtis Fleming, Chance Carpenter and Devin Carpenter.

Visitation was planned for Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 5-7 p.m. with Rosary from 7-8 p.m. at the Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas. Funeral services were scheduled for Friday, June 27, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylor, Texas followed by burial at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Taylor, Texas.
