Linda Rowe

Linda Rowe

Linda had many monikers. First and foremost was “Mom” by her boys Sean and Brock and “Memaw” by the lightsof- her life granddaughters Kaitlyn and Olivia.
Linda, Lulu, Susie, and Sista rounded out the collection. At least, those are the ones we used in polite company.
Linda loved her romance novels like some people love air and loud music. She believed headphones were a poor substitute for full volume. She rocked her big hoop earrings and red lipstick through everything.
Linda talked to her two sons daily, the kind of mom who could fill a conversation with sharp wit and deep love all at once. She was hell on wheels with her daughter- in-law Trisha, who managed her appointments and was her personal chauffeur.
She often joked that she hated kids, but it was no secret to her nieces and nephews that she loved them immensely. And those granddaughters of hers?
Well, there simply wasn’t anyone who meant more to her. To say she was proud was an understatement.
Memaw was so looking forward to meeting her great-granddaughter on the way, Ellowyn. Her wicked sense of humor was on display in good times and bad.
You never knew what she’d say. She kept life interesting.
Linda’s battle with lung cancer was tough, but true to form, she faced it with strength, a wry smirk, and lipstick. Never forget the lipstick.
If she were here, she’d probably say, “Enough crying. Turn up the music and call your mom.”
That’s what we’re going to do, Linda Sue. You’ll be missed, reminisced about, and loved forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 30. Please contact [email protected] for details.
