Born on Feb. 14, 1944, in Rockdale, he was raised in Thorndale before later making his home in Taylor. Over the course of his life, Tom worked in various areas of construction, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Maisie (Todd) Yakesch; his sister, Mary Jean (Yakesch) (Williams) Brian; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hardy A. Todd and Anton and Maria Yakesch.
Tom is survived by devoted friends and caregivers, Stacy and Jeff Stork; cousins John Pat Yakesch and family and John Alvin Yakesch and family; his nephew, Gary Williams and family; as well as dear friends Butch and Beverly Turner and Garrett Stork.
In keeping with his lifelong love of science and his desire to contribute to the greater good, he generously donated his body to the Texas State University Forensic Anthropology Center.
The Stork family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Concho Heart Hospice, with special appreciation to his nurse, Sabrina Faw, for her exceptional care and support throughout the past year. Sincere thanks are also extended to Falcon Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Hutto, where he was provided a safe and comfortable home, and to Kristi Morrow-Hamm, NP, along with the staff at WellMed Taylor, for their dedicated care.
