Henry Daniel Martinka

Henry Daniel Martinka, 94 of Bartlett, Texas, passed away at home surrounded by family on the morning of Oct. 10, 2025. He was born July 16, 1931, in Granger, Texas, to Frank and Mary (Nejtek) Martinka of Weir.

He was the youngest of 17 children and was baptized at Sts.

Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church (SSCM). He attended Granger schools.

Henry joined the military in 1952 where he proudly served his country and earned the rank of Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He married the love of his life, Frances Roznovsky on June 14, 1955, at SSCM in Granger. Together they raised four beautiful children. He was a devoted husband and loving father. He worked hard to provide for his family.

He started his working career as a lineman for the Bartlett Electric Co-Op. Later he joined the team for the City of Bartlett for multiple years.

Henry was such a committed provider for his family he advanced his career by joining Brown and Root as a Master Electrician where he proudly worked and traveled the world and retired after 25 years.

Henry lived a full and joyful life, with his faith being his foundation. He found peace and strength in praying the Rosary, and his deep love for God guided him through every season.

In his quiet way, he was always preparing his place in heaven. Always busy with something he loved.

Whether he was out hunting or fishing, searching for arrowheads, or deep in a competitive game of dominoes, he brought passion and fun to everything he did. He had a sharp mind for puzzles and a love of reading and never missed a chance to cheer on his Astros or Cowboys.

Proud of his Czech roots, he found happiness in listening to Czech music, dancing the polka with his wife, and sharing good times with friends and family. He was a wonderful storyteller, and his family cherished every tale he told – each one full of humor, history, and heart.

He was a man who could make or fix just about anything – crafting wine, making molasses or working in his workshop with quiet pride. His hands were strong, his heart was kind, and his love for life and family will be remembered always.

Henry was proceeded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Frances and survived by: Pamela Gadison (Daniel), Nancy Lindemann, Amy Kay Kallus (Ted), Patrick Martinka (Stacy).
