William Hall

William (Bill) G. Hall, a 1933 Nacogdoches boy, was a proud West Columbia Roughneck graduate of 1952.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War at Fort Wadsworth, New York, protecting the United States Capital and Financial area air space. When Bill came back to Texas, he pursued his secondary education at his beloved University of Texas, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1959.

Bill met the love of his life, Diana, on a blind date while both were students at the university, marrying soon after graduation and devoting 66 years of his life to making Diana happy.

Through Bill’s work with Transcontinental Pipeline Corp, Gulf Interstate Engineering Co, Clajon Gas Co, BAM Energy, Inc, Gulf Gas Utilities and his many consulting projects, his 40-year petroleum career took he and his family from Texas to Georgia and New Jersey. Bill has also covered the globe with his work from Saudi Arabia to Australia, but his heart and home always remained and continues here in Texas.

Bill worked hard but knew how to relax. He loved dancing with Diana – especially the jitter bug.

He loved Round Rock Donuts, Whataburger, his beautiful orange bull, “Bubba,” taking his grandsons on tractor “scoop” rides and his Momma’s pecan pie. Bill was a great storyteller, a good joke, and of course, he never took the lower deck of I-35 because you had to be on the upper deck to “bow to the tower” and pay your respects to “The Orange and White.”

Bill took every “opportunity” he had in life to better himself and provide for his family. His body exhausted on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025.

He was a member of Taylor Brethren Church and enjoyed his Friday mornings with the Taylor Brotherhood Bunch. He missed his military and Amery House brothers every day.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Arthur and Lola Belle Gartman Hall and his brother, Norris Lee Hall.

Bill was devoted to his family and is survived by his wife, Diana, his daughters Cindy Lanham (Roy) and Kimberly Windham, son Craig Hall (Beth), six grandsons and six great-grandsons – no girls.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Caleb, Collin and Duncan, Lanham and Justin, Emmitt and Kolton Hall.

The Halls would like to thank the nurses and aides at AccentCare and Baylor Scott & White.

Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, at Condra Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, at Taylor Brethren Church. Burial will follow at New Calvary Cemetery in Granger, Texas.
