In 1950, the family relocated to Thrall, where Donnie spent his formative years. He joined Mount Pleasant Church and was baptized at a young age.
Donnie attended school in Thrall before completing his high school education at O.L. Price High School in Taylor, graduating with the Class of 1965. Shortly thereafter, he honorably served in the United States military for two years, demonstrating his dedication to his country.
Following his service, he embarked on a 34-year career at Alcoa. After retiring from Alcoa, he continued contributing to his community by working as a driver for Railroad Express for another decade.
In 1970, Donnie married the love his life, Linda. Together, they built a beautiful life and were blessed with four children. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Donnie found joy in the simple pleasures — spending time with family, playing dominoes, and restoring classic cars with care and craftsmanship.
On Oct. 11, Donnie departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication. He is survived by his beloved wife Linda; sons Eric, Brian, and Justin; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Burrell and Mary Spells; and three brothers, Rodney, Michael, and Robert. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral Services were held at Taylor City Cemetery on Friday, Oct.17, 2025 at 2 p.m.
