Benjamin Koonce
Benjamin Koonce

17, 2025. Ben was full of life and joy, and he lived each day of his 15 years to the fullest. His kind and cheerful disposition was a beacon of light in a dark world.
Ben’s contagious laughter could fill a room with smiles in an instant. He had an extraordinary ability
to see the good in people, allowing him to love others deeply and wholeheartedly.
A natural peacemaker with a servant’s heart, Ben never hesitated to set aside what he was doing to help someone in need.
Ben was cherished by his family. He loved spending time fishing and hanging out with his mom and dad, and he shared a special bond with his twin brother, Colt, with whom he enjoyed playing video games together.
Ben adored his older sister, Avery, and missed her deeply. He also treasured summers at the beach with his cousins.
A freshman at Thrall High School, Ben never let any difficulty or setback dull his spirit. He was a member of the cross-country and track teams, and his simple and kind spirit left a lasting impact on his classmates and teachers.
Most importantly, Ben loved Jesus. He had the kind of simple and sincere faith that Christ commended in Mark 10:15.
It was this sincere faith that gave Ben confidence that he would one day be with Jesus and with his sister, Avery. The grace and mercy of Jesus were evident throughout Ben’s life, and God’s strength shone through in Ben’s moments of weakness.
Ben was preceded in death by his sister, Avery Grace Koonce; his paternal grandmother, Donna Koonce; and his maternal grandfather, William “Bill” Memmer.
He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. Ben leaves behind his loving parents, Eric and Kelly, and his twin brother, Colt, as well as his extended family and many dear friends.
Ben’s absence leaves a hole in the hearts of all who loved him, but his light and kindness will continue to live on in their memories.
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 A Memorial Service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at First Baptist Church in Taylor.
