Peggy Sue Massey

Peggy Sue Kaiser Massey, 91, of Round Rock, passed away peacefully on Dec. 1, 2025, surrounded by family. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family.

She was loved deeply by her children. We were fortunate to have her in our lives for as long as we did and she always played the role of “active parenting.” Just because we grew older, it didn’t mean her role as a mother changed at all.

Peggy always loved being a mother, but one of her greatest joys was being a Memaw to her grandchildren and many young children who knew her as Memaw. Spending time with her grandchildren led to many adventures.

She always enjoyed spending time with them. They even spent many hours together watching “The Young and the Restless.”

In 1995, she moved to Round Rock. She enjoyed living near Taylor, where she was born and where many of her family members lived.

In her opinion, a good day was taking a drive to Taylor. She enjoyed those drives throughout all of her years.

She was so much more than a mother of four, but also a mother figure to many others. She was the kind of woman whose love reached far beyond the walls of her immediate family. She cared for foster children and welcomed in children who were struggling at home, kids who weren’t in the system but desperately needed a safe place to land, a place where they could feel loved and understood.

After moving to Round Rock, she welcomed young children from other countries who were missing the warmth and connection of their biological families. She gave them the kind of love that made them feel like they belonged. She cared for children with special needs, mentally and physically, with a gentleness and patience that came straight from her soul.

Her life was a living example of what it means to be a safe place in a world that can be so unkind. She gave people hope, she gave them comfort, she gave them a home, and she gave all of us a reminder of what true compassion really looks like.

Peggy Sue Kaiser Massey was born on July 5, 1934, in Taylor, Texas, daughter of Leon Kaiser and Edna Wood Kaiser. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Massey; her siblings, Carl Kaiser, Alvin Ezzell, Gaylon Kaiser, Martha Jirasek, Joy Welsh; and her grandson David Skylor York.

She was loved by her four children, Tasha York, Tanya Stalder (Don Shin), Troy Marek (Vicki) and Daniel Massey (Christi), as well as 12 grandchildren, Kara Massey (Alan Au), Leslie Tollen (Alex), Spencer Stalder (Bryn), Lacey York, TJ Shoop-York (Heather), Keaton Shin (Ashley), Shelby Shin, Trenton Marek, Trevor Marek, Garrison Shin, Owen Massey and Judsen Massey. She had 17 great-grandchildren and one great-greatgranddaughter.

Services for Peggy will be on Dec. 20, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Round Rock Christian Church, 22 Chalice Way, Round Rock, Texas.
