Dorothy Ann Mikeska

Dorothy Ann Mikeska, 83, passed away April 23, 2026, in Hutto, TX.

Dorothy was known for her sweet, loving spirit and kind, giving nature.

Born April 2, 1943, in Taylor, TX, to Willie and Elizabeth (Blad) Mikeska. Her early life was marked by the profound sacrifice of her father, who was lost aboard U.S.S. Indianapolis during WWII. She was baptized and confirmed at Palm Valley Lutheran Church.

After graduation from Round Rock High School in 1961, she moved to Austin where she made her home for 60 years. After earning her business degree from Nixon Clay Business College, she began a career with the State Library of Texas, retiring after 30+ years.

She was also a lifelong member of SPJST and was very proud of her Czech and Swedish heritage.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Elizabeth Mikeska, her grandparents, Joe and Francis Mikeska and Axel and Esther Blad, and her uncle and aunt, Joe and Blanche Mikeska. She is survived by many family and friends who will miss her dearly.
