Barbara Kolinek

Barbara was born on Jan. 16, 1941, in Granger, to Albert and Regina Hyzak. Barbara was known for her deep Catholic faith, her generosity and her love of family and friends.
She enjoyed traveling and was fluent in the Czech language, a gift she treasured throughout her life. Those who knew her will remember her gentle spirit, warm smile and willingness to help anyone in need.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Regina Hyzak; three sisters, Mary Lee Gorubec, Marjorie Meier and Sister Thadine; and her brother, Albert (Sonny) Hyzak. Barbara is survived by her husband, Walter (WC) Kolinek; her two sons, Charles and his wife, Kim, Larry and his wife, Traci, her grandchildren, Justin, Reeve, and Kaylynn, her great-grandchild, Lucas; and her three sisters, Sister Barbara Lynn Hyzak, Paula Hajda, and Rita George.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on June 27, 2026, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
The family extends its sincere gratitude to the caregivers, medical professionals, and hospice staff who provided Barbara with compassionate care.
Barbara's faith guided her throughout her life, and her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
