Bartlett graduating class celebrates 50 years

The Bartlett High School Class of 1975 held their 50th class reunion at Sirloin Stockade in Taylor on Saturday, May 17.

Classmates and their spouses or other family members enjoyed lunch with each other after the class president Liz Clark welcomed everybody and led the group in prayer for each other and deceased classmates James Lemons, Jesse Rocha, and Diana (Tina) Wade.

After lunch, class members reminisced about memories such as who almost drowned on the senior trip to Landa Park, New Braunfels (Daniel Gadison), how some of the classmates got their nicknames, how they could tell who is all getting older by the knee or shoulder surgeries they’d had, and how many kids, grandkids and great-grandkids some of them had, and whose parents were still living, along with sharing family pictures. The classmates that traveled furthest to attend the reunion were Russell and Teri McKay from Colorado and Bobby and Leigh Ann Ramsey from Alabama.

Class members enjoyed visiting with each other the rest of the afternoon, then took group and couple pictures before Pastor Daniel prayed, everybody sang the school song and went home.

Classmates attending the reunion were Larry and Debbie (Walker) Anderson Daniel and Laura Blane, Tommy and Sheri Braun, Barbara (Gadison) Burleson and her daughter, Pete Hightower, Elizabeth and Robert Clark, Kim and Phyllis Janke, Sharon (Johnson) Nealy, Dennis and Patricia Marek, Russell and Teri McKay, Bobby and Leigh Ann Ramsey, Mark and Mary Lou Richey, Elizabeth Wood, Tim Steglich, and Pam (White) Hightower.

Janice (Binder) Broadnax, Dennis Marek, and Pam (White) Hightower helped with reunion preparations and tracked down fellow classmates.
