Audience members heard a variety of solos during the 29th annual Spring Piano Recital presented by Anita Volek in the Worship Center of First Baptist Church.
The May 20 evening concert featured selections ranging from pop and movie themes to classical.
The program opened with a trio presentation of “Wellerman,” a New Zealand sea shanty performed by Sophia-Rae Eiben on piano, Solomon Eiben on violin and Vivian Eiben on percussion.
Other students participating in the recital were Elsa Anderson, Demi Dahlberg, Scarlett Dahlberg, Juliette Havens, Allison Mahmood, J. D. Morgan, Grace Philhower, Lera Rost and Gray Talavera.
Additional performers included Edmund Cavender, Blair McArthur, Evie Schneider and Jace Wilkins, all students of Debbie Matthys.
Volek closed the evening with a personal piano arrangement of “Music of the Night” from “Phantom of the Opera” by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
