Snell declares disaster for parts of East Wilco

Parts of Eastern Williamson County have been declared disaster areas Saturday evening.

Williamson County Judge Steven Snell made the disaster declaration as various portions of the county, including Texas 95 near Texas 29, had high water from rainfall Saturday. The San Gabriel River was reportedly outside its banks.

High water was reported near the Taylor Regional Airport and US 79 near Mustang Creek. According to the Williamson County officials, 29 roads inside the county were closed because of high water.

The Williamson County Office of Emergency Management urges residents to pay attention to areas with high water and to avoid those areas. While there are no reported deaths, three people have been reported missing.

More on this will be updated as more information is available.
