The 18 cameras originally requested at City Council would not be the first or only video surveillance happening in the city.
• Taylor currently has eight Flock System license-plate readers installed on the main roads.
• The Taylor Independent School District has about 400 surveillance cameras.
• A number of cameras installed on City Hall cover the parking lot and much of Heritage Square Park.
