The city of Taylor has a new downtown and tourism director.
Sean Johnson started his tenure in the position on Monday, Aug. 25. Johnson comes to Taylor from Cleveland, Mississippi, where he served as director of tourism for Visit Cleveland, Mississippi.
He has also held executive roles across Mississippi, including executive director of the Chickasaw Development Foundation in Houston and chief marketing officer for New Albany.
"We’re excited to have Sean leading our downtown and tourism efforts," said City Manager Brian LaBorde. "His skills will lay the foundation for preserving our small-town charm, making it even better, and showcasing Taylor at its best to visitors and businesses alike.”
Johnson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government/International Relations from Liberty University (cum laude) and completed graduate work in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Memphis. He is a certified Tourism Management Professional (TMP) through the Southeast Tourism Society and has earned recognition from the Southern Public Relations Federation and Mississippi Tourism Association for his innovative placemaking and marketing excellence.
