In other City Council business Thursday, Aug. 28:
• Awarded a contract to begin revising the city’s Comprehensive Plan and Development Code. The city already has more than 6,000 apartments in some phase of planning and the previous plan didn’t account for the impact of Samsung Austin Semiconductor.
• Awarded a $6.2 million contract for drainage improvements to Donna Channel, Travis Street and Franklin Street.
• Approved the complete eradication of the cycle track on Mallard Lane.
• Unveiled the Sesquicentennial City Logo for Taylor’s 150th birthday next year.
• Introduced the fiscal year budget and ad valorem tax rate.
