GEORGETOWN — Three veteran Williamson County Sheriff’s Office deputies retired Friday, Aug. 29, officials announced.
Sheriff Matt Lindemann and other colleagues thanked the lawmen for their service to the county in a Facebook post, as well as with in-person recognitions.
Lt. Rick Pena, Sgt. Charles Kelley and Deputy Jeffrey Lowry each served more than a quarter of a century in Williamson County.
Pena was on the force 43 years, Kelley for 30 years and Lowry for 26 years.
The department saw another departure last week — Kato, a Belgian Malinois, left the K-9 unit after seven years on the force to spend his golden years in the home of his handler, Deputy Charles Duvall.
