Drive brings in 300 gifts for Red Santa

Taylor’s youth baseball and softball players hit home runs with a toy drive to help Operation Red Santa give children in need a merry Christmas.

Taylor Area Baseball & Softball hosted its second annual Holiday Hitters Toy Drive Dec. 6-7 at Taylor Regional Park.

The tournament featured 28 teams in three divisions: 8-under, 10-under and 12-under.

More than 300 gifts for the toy drive were provided to the Taylor Fire Department and its community initiative – Operation Red Santa.

This program ensures children facing adversity receive gifts and experience the joy of the holidays, officials said.

Taylor firefighters said the donations will make a significant impact on local families this Christmas season.

According to a release, the continued partnership between TABS and the Fire Department is “a shining example of how local organizations collaborate to spread holiday joy.”
