GEORGETOWN — Applications are being accepted to the Williamson County Government Citizens Academy for those wanting to learn more about the courts, roads and taxes.
The eight-week course is April 2 to May 21 from 9:30 a.m. to noon every Thursday at locations across Georgetown.
In addition to rotating speakers, topics include county history, Commissioners Court, the justice system, law enforcement, roads, emergency services, the budgeting process, parks, economic development, elections and the animal shelter.
Participants must be county residents and must commit to attending each course. The sessions are open to the first 30 who register.
