FELIX CHAVEZ

FELIX CHAVEZ 1). What motivated you to run for Hutto School Board?

When I first decided to serve on the Hutto ISD School Board of Trustees in 2020, it came from a very simple place: a deep commitment to our students and our community. My wife and I have three great children.

Two have completed K–12 in Hutto ISD, and our third is currently in fifth grade. We have called Hutto and the surrounding area home for nearly 30 years, and I have been actively involved in the community for more than 26 years.

2). What is your campaign strategy?

When it comes to my approach to serving our community, I focus on listening. I believe in staying accessible, hearing from families, and remaining engaged with the people who make this district what it is.

I value respectful communication, transparency, and collaboration. My focus is on student needs and educational progress — not division or distractions. Every decision I have made on the dais has centered first on student success, followed by supporting our teachers and staff.

3). If elected, what changes will you bring to the table?

Looking ahead, my priorities remain consistent. I will continue to support responsible budgeting to ensure resources are directed where they matter most, while helping Hutto ISD grow and achieve a district rating of “B” or better.

I believe in strengthening communication with families and supporting our teachers and staff so they can do their best work. Over the past six years, I have logged many hours working with elected officials to support public education and ensure access to high-quality, non-partisan instructional materials. I remain committed to policies that promote academic success, safety, and positive, inclusive environments for all students.

4). What can voters

expect from you?

Most importantly, what people can expect from me is straightforward: integrity, professionalism, and a balanced, thoughtful approach to governance. I will continue to be accessible, collaborative, and steady in my decision-making. Above all, my focus will always remain on doing what is best for the students of Hutto ISD.
