Thrall senior tennis player Harleigh Barrett closed out her Tigerettes career with a third-place finish at the state tournament on Friday, May 8.
Barrett received a firstround bye before defeating Samantha White of San Antonio Cole 6-3, 6-2. She advanced to the semifinals with that win, but lost to eventual state champion Amelia Taylor of Wall, 6-2, 6-1, in the semifinal round.
Barrett won the District 19-3A and Region III-3A championships this season. She will play tennis next year at Concordia-Austin.
