Two Hutto entities - Hutto City Council and Hutto Economic Development Corp - have laid the groundwork for a new fire station on the east side of the city limits.
The new fire station is expected to be near the Hutto Megasite on US 79 just east of the Limmer Loop intersection. City Council voted to direct the EDC to take action on the new fire station, and EDC authorized the purchase of land for the station, engaged PBK Architects to lead its design, and been directed to begin the process of acquiring a fire apparatus for the facility.
"Hutto Economic Development Corporation recognizes that strong public infrastructure is just as important as any economic development initiative we undertake,” said Caitlin Morales, Vice Chair of the HEDC. “This investment ensures that as Hutto grows, our residents and businesses are protected."
