GEORGETOWN — Nearly 20 awards went to first responders and support services during the Williamson County Emergency Services’ second annual honors ceremony May 1.

The event recognized employees and teams from the Emergency Medical Services, Emergency Communications, the Office of Emergency Management, the Fire Marshal’s Office, Special Operations and partnering departments such as the county’s Information Technology Services.

The awards highlight “excellence across Williamson County Emergency Services and the individuals who serve the community every day with professionalism, integrity and compassion,” according to a prepared release.

“These awards highlight the dedication and compassion our teams bring to every call,” added Williamson County Chief of Emergency Services Bill Zito. “Behind every recognition is a real impact on someone in our community.”
