AUSTIN – Taylor and Thrall were both represented at the UIL 3A and 4A State Track and Field Championships on Thursday, May 14, as the Ducks and Tigers each had athletes competing against the best
in Texas. Taylor was represented by standout long jumper Jeremiah Caldwell, while Thrall was represented by 400-meter runner Carleigh Roznovak.
Both athletes earned spots on the podium with impressive performances. Caldwell captured the silver medal in the boys long jump after recording a leap of 22 feet, 10 inches. Roznovak also brought home silver, finishing second in the girls 400-meter dash with a blazing time of 57.44 seconds.
Both athletes capped off outstanding seasons by earning state medals and representing their schools at the highest level of UIL competition. With both Caldwell and Roznovak being freshmen, the sky is the limit for each.
