With just one senior on the roster, it wasn’t the greatest of seasons for the Taylor baseball team in 2026.
The Ducks tasted victory just three times in 24 games, including once in District 24-4A play. Despite the 3-21 record, seven Taylor players earned alldistrict honors.
Junior Mason Sunvision was the lone Duck to earn first team honors on the 24-4A all-district team. The center fielder/pitcher was among the top hitters on the Taylor roster.
Sunvision recorded team-highs in batting average (0.367), on-base percentage (0.592), hits (18) and runs scored (15). He also had a 0.469 slugging percentage.
The lone senior on the roster, Angel Rodriguez, earned second team honors. He led the Ducks with 15 runs batted in and nine stolen bases.
Also earning second team honors were sophomore Tayden Talley and junior Brody Wygant. Talley and Wygant both pitched and played in the middle infield.
Earning honorable mention accolades were junior Mario Newman and sophomores Kingston Baran and Brayden Ochoa. Baran played shortstop and catcher, while Newman was a first baseman and pitcher, and Ochoa played first base and third base.
