Granger High School standout Tre Castillo earned statewide recognition after being named to the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association Class 2A Second Team All-State Team following an outstanding 2026 season.
Castillo was one of the Lions’ top performers on both sides of the ball, helping lead Granger to a 14-9-1 overall record and an 8-4 mark in district play. The Lions advanced to the postseason before falling to Goldthwaite in the bi-district round.
At the plate, Castillo led Granger with a .514 batting average and posted a team-best .604 onbase percentage. He also supplied power in the middle of the lineup, hitting three home runs while consistently creating scoring opportunities for the Lions throughout the season.
Castillo was equally effective on the mound, finishing with a team-leading 1.57 earned run average. His ability to contribute as both a hitter and pitcher made him one of the most valuable players in the area and a key factor in Granger’s success this spring.
The all-state selection caps off a remarkable season for Castillo and recognizes him as one of the top Class 2A players in Texas.
