THRALL — Blake Schneider is the interim superintendent for the Thrall Independent School District, stepping in for Tommy Hooker who announced his retirement in June.
Hooker, employed by the district for 15 years, will remain at Thrall in an advisory capacity as superintendent emeritus until the end of December, officials said.
Schneider, who has served as the district’s chief financial officer for more than seven years, was emotional at the June 23 school board meeting as he thanked trustees for their vote of confidence.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue building upon the strong foundation established by Mr. Hooker and to work alongside our dedicated team as we strive to elevate opportunities for every student,” Schneider said.
According to school board President Bryan Holubec, Hooker helped select his successor to ensure a smoother transition.
