HUTTO – Hutto High School athlete Jaiden Fields has set a commitment date and will announce his college decision Tuesday, July 7, at 1 p.m. at Hutto High School.

Fields will choose between Oklahoma, Southern Methodist, Texas A&M, Texas Christian and Stanford after taking official visits to each of the five schools.

Fields said it was important to finalize his decision before the start of his senior season and explained the thought process behind his timeline.

“I wanted to commit before the season,” Fields said. “It was definitely going to be in July after all the official visits. After that, I felt like, ‘All right, give me a week or two to make the right choice,’ and I feel like now is that time.”

The announcement marks a significant milestone for Fields as years of hard work on and off the field have led to one of the biggest moments of his football career.

“It feels like a dream come true,” Fields said. “I’ve been working for a long time, and just being able to pick a school is big for me. I feel speechless.”

Fields said the two biggest factors in his decision are the atmosphere surrounding each program and the coaching staffs. He acknowledged that the recruiting process has been demanding but said he is grateful for the opportunities it has provided.

“It can be hectic having all the coaches text you and call you every other day,” Fields said. “But I’d rather have it than not have it.”

Fields is coming off an outstanding junior season in which he totaled 1,345 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns during the 2025 season and will go into the 2026 season as one of the top athletes in the state of Texas.
