Taylor celebrates America’s birthday
Taylor Independent School District cheerleaders bring their patriotic spirit and school mascot Waddles the Duck to the July Fourth parade.

Fun for the big 2-5-0

A parade through neighborhoods in downtown Taylor kicked off the July Fourth festivities as the community gathered to celebrate America’s 250th birthday.

The procession Saturday started about 9 a.m. at Old Taylor High in the 400 block of West Seventh Street, wove through the central city and ended at Murphy Park.

Ice cream was served up after the parade, followed by live music and fireworks at dark.
