GEORGETOWN — A multiagency probe led to two arrests and seizures of narcotics, firearms and cash in Taylor and Elgin this past week, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office said Friday.
The five-month investigation targeting the manufacture and distribution of illicit substances resulted in warrants being served July 23 in the 100 block of West Point Way in Elgin and the 400 block of Gano Street in Taylor, deputies said in a release.
According to the July 24 statement, the Taylor site “was identified as a location where (a suspect) was allegedly distributing narcotics. Further investigation also indicated that narcotics were being stored at this residence.”
According to the Sheriff’s Office, a 34-year-old man who lived at the Elgin residence is charged with the manufacture/delivery of methamphetamine and cocaine, and marijuana possession.
Deputies also said a 36-year-old woman is charged with possession of a controlled substance 1 to 4 grams.
Items seized by law officers at the Taylor residence include methamphetamines, cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana.
Discovered at the Elgin residence, investigators said, were crystal meth and meth pills, powder cocaine and crack cocaine, marijuana, THC vapes, promethazine, a loaded revolver, a “loaded Taurus handgun” and $5,000 in cash.
“This investigation highlights the importance of multi agency coordination and partnerships,” the sheriff’s release noted.
Participating agencies and units included the sheriff's Organized Crime Unit, sheriff’s Special Weapons and Tactics team, the Texas Department of Public Safety Major Drug Unit 6C1 and the Elgin Police Department, investigators said.
