CAMERON — The Granger Lady Lions varsity volleyball team fell in dual matches against Riesel and Cameron on Tuesday, Aug. 11, at Cameron High School.
The Lady Lions opened the day with a tough 3-2 loss to Riesel, forcing a fifth set before ultimately falling 15-8.
Granger got off to a slow start, dropping the first set 25-9 before battling back in the second set with a 25-22 victory to even the match. The Lady Lions then split the next two sets, winning the third before falling 25-18 in the fourth.
Riesel pulled away in the deciding fifth set to secure the victory.
Granger’s match against Cameron was less competitive, as the Lady Lions fell to the Yeomen 3-0.
The Lady Lions dropped to 0-2 on the season and will continue tournament play at Cameron High School before traveling to face Rockdale on Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 6 p.m.
