The Taylor Lady Ducks varsity volleyball team fell to the Elgin Lady Wildcats in straight sets during its home opener Tuesday, Aug. 18.
Taylor battled in the opening set before falling 25-21. The Lady Ducks struggled to keep pace with the experienced Lady Cats in the second set, dropping it 25-21, before Elgin closed out the match with a 25-13 victory in the third set.
The loss dropped Taylor’s record to 3-7 as the Lady Ducks continue to face a challenging early-season schedule.
Taylor quickly turned its attention to tournament play, competing in the Bastrop Classic beginning Thursday and continuing through the weekend.
The Lady Ducks will then travel to face Little River Academy on Tuesday, Aug. 25 at 6 p.m.
