A funding grant from the Taylor Economic Development Corp. is helping a local manufacturing firm move up to the next level, officials said.
The funds are allowing Masterson Industries Inc. to purchase the Supertec CNC cylindrical and centerless grinders, a move officials at the hard-chrome plating company have called a milestone.
The funding represents the EDC’s “ongoing commitment to strengthening advanced manufacturing and local business growth in Taylor,” according to a release.
“Helping established local manufacturers reach the next level is central to TEDC’s mission,” said Vice President Regina Carlson. “Supporting the growth of homegrown businesses like Masterson Industries is exactly what our work is about.”
In June, the company also earned Nadcap accreditation—the quality standard required by the aerospace and defense industry—in chemical processing.
“These new machines and our Nadcap accreditation represent years of planning and hard work,” said Will Masterson, Masterson vice president of operations. “They mark the beginning of our next stage of growth, and we couldn’t have achieved it without the support of the Taylor Economic Development Corp.”
The new equipment and the Nadcap accreditation strengthen Masterson’s aerospace hard-chrome plating capabilities and position the company for new opportunities, officials said.
“Masterson Industries’ continued expansion reflects exactly the kind of local success TEDC works to encourage, and we look forward to supporting the company’s next chapter right here in Taylor,” Carlson said.
