Communities commemorate 9/11
Last Friday, Sept. 11, marked the 25th anniversary of the attacks on the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. Cities around the nation and Central Texas held events to memorialize the lives lost and the stairs climbed by brave men and women.
With a bell toll and a moment of silence, the city of Taylor and Taylor Independent School District held a Patriot Day Memorial at the Taylor High School stadium, 355 FM 973, before the night’s football game.
Hutto hosted a Memorial Stair Climb Saturday, Sept. 12 at Hutto Memorial Stadium, 507 Chris Kelley Blvd. The ceremony began at 8:46 a.m., the exact time the first plane crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center 25 years ago.
