Thrall prepares for district play

With their bye week this Friday, Thorndale Tigers are turning attention to ranked play next week. The Tigers completed pre-district play with a 5-1 record, finishing with a 34-6 defeat over San Antonio Christian Lions at home on Sept. 25th.

Thrall opened the season with a 27-0 road blowout over Hearne, an improvement from their previous meeting where the Eagles defeated them 20-14 in 2023.

Thorndale Bulldogs were the only team to take down Thrall so far, defeating the visiting Tigers 28-14.

The Tigers have accumulated 645 rushing yards and 261 passing yards and only allowing 75 points, which is a stark change from the 201 points allowed this time last year.

To open district competition, Thrall will travel to Schulenburg to take on the Shornhorns on Oct. 9 at 7 p.m.

The Tigers last faced Schulenburg in the regular- season finale last year, narrowly falling 42-35.

The Shorthorns have yet to find success this season, holding a 0-5 overall record coming off a 49-10 loss by Johnson City.
