AUSTIN – Four St. Mary’s Catholic School middle school students from Taylor traveled to St. Andrew's Episcopal School in Austin for solo and ensemble contest on March 25. Students could be ranked as a 1, 2 or 3 in their specific competition.
Xochitl Hopkinson scored a 1 on her clarinet. Anthony Lively scored a 1 on his saxophone. Samuel Salazar scored a 1 on his trumpet and Lydia Melcher scored a 2 on her french horn.
St. Mary’s music department has flourished under the direction of music teacher Abigail Colmark.
