County partners with schools for internships

GEORGETOWN — Williamson County Facilities Management is partnering with independent school districts across the county to provide paid internships for high school practicum students in Career and Technical Education courses. Internships are available for students to gain real-world work experience in the fields of architecture, building systems engineering, facilities planning and public service.

Williamson County Facilities Management has completed its first year of the program with two student interns. Both student interns have been accepted into prestigious architecture schools in Texas and across the country. Applications from high school juniors are currently being accepted for summer, fall, spring or full senior year internships.

The county staff works closely with CTE program advisors and practicum teachers to make this program possible. High school students interested in applying for an internship should speak directly to their CTE program advisors or send an email to Leah. [email protected] for more information.
