Governor to come to Taylor

Governor Greg Abbott hosted an event at the Governor's Mansion in 2021 to announce Samsung Austin Semiconductor's choice to come to Taylor.

Governor Greg Abbott will attend a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Samsung Highway Friday, June 7 in Taylor. 

According to a press release from Abbott’s office, the governor will be joined by Samsung vice president and president of Taylor Project, Chanhoon Park, Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell, Texas Department of Transportation District Engineer Tucker Ferguson and Williamson County Precinct 4 Commissioner Russ Boles.

Williamson County said the event will celebrate the completion of several road projects in the southwest Taylor area including the reconstruction and expansion of County Road 401, improvements to County Road 404 and Farm to Market 973, water line realignment on CR 404 and the completion of Segments 1 and 2 of Samsung Highway.
