It’s the Century of the Ducks, and the Taylor Independent School District staged a homecoming that many say will be remembered for ages.

Capping off a week’s worth of events, Gray Talavera and Amelia “Mei Mei” Irisawa were crowned as homecoming king and queen at halftime Friday during the big game between Taylor High School and Austin Achieve High School.

Earlier in the week, decked-out floats and cars full of students, teachers and alumni paraded from Old Taylor High to Memorial Field at Murphy Park Oct. 2 during a homecoming parade.
