OCCUPATION: Owner/ Operator of A Veteran Storage Boat and RV Storage
POSITION RUNNING FOR: Taylor City Council District 1
If elected, what will be your top priority?
My top priority will be permitting and staff retention. The permitting process is long and hard when our own citizens are doing a project and having issues with the system. That’s a problem. This makes it hard to get outside builders to come into Taylor to build projects. When it comes to staff retention, we need to keep the talent that the city has. That way, we
can build and train a strong and knowledgeable staff.
What is the biggest issue facing Taylor right now?
Taylor’s infrastructure is old and needs a lot of repairs. We have to balance the repairs with what we have, while making sure that the new infrastructure is strong and will last as we move forward.
Why are you running?
I’ve been a public servant my entire career. I work for several charities in and around Taylor, and this is the next and best step in serving the citizens of Taylor.
Why should the residents vote for you?
I am a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps where I traveled the world working on jets and helicopters.
I’ve worked for and retired from the city of Austin’s Fleet Services, serving several departments throughout the city daily. Most of all, I worked for the citizens of Austin by providing a quality service and I never lost sight of that. I understand budgets and personal.
I’m a small business owner and building it from the ground up, I know how to ensure that everything is done correctly to make it safe and secure for my customers, and how to make it last and profitable. Not only am I a good steward of my funds, but I will also be with the citizens’ money. Doing what is best for all of Taylor and its citizens will be a mission of mine while on the council.
