POSITION YOU ARE RUNNING FOR: Taylor City Council District 4 If elected, what will be your top priority?
My top priority will be to remain a strong and reliable voice for the citizens of District 4, and all of Taylor. I will assure that their concerns are not only heard, but also addressed. I will also prioritize fiscal responsibility as a good steward of public funds, ensuring that taxpayer dollars are allocated towards projects and needs that are critical, such as infrastructure.
What is the biggest issue facing Taylor right now?
I believe the most critical issue our community is facing is infrastructure. Our infrastructure is in critical condition, and we should absolutely not be attempting to grow on top of a crumbling foundation. We need leaders who are committed to prioritizing this issue in the budget, and working to ensure that this need is top of mind in every decision that is made.
Why are you running?
I am deeply committed to the future of Taylor, Texas. My family and I have resided in the district for the last nine years. I am a proud US Navy Veteran, a former educator and currently a Director of Partnerships in the EdTech industry, where we work to increase educator effectiveness to ultimately improve student outcomes in the classroom. I decided to run for the District 4 city council seat after a lot of prayer and careful consideration. Over the past few years, I’ve become increasingly concerned about the direction our city was headed, which inspired me to become more politically engaged.
As a result, I worked alongside other passionate residents, to address those concerns and effect positive change, via the overwhelmingly successful Charter Amendment Petition Drive. My passion and proven ability to impact change in the community made this candidacy a natural progression.
Why should residents vote for you?
Citizens should vote for me because I will listen to and work for the constituents, and ensure that our tax dollars and decisions are working for them.
My commitment in this race is solely to the Citizens of Taylor.
I am not beholden to any special interests, and I pledge that if elected, every decision I make will elevate the needs and voices of the Taylor community. I believe I am the best choice for District 4, because I am the only candidate in this race with a proven track record of advocating for citizen voice and representation at the local level and as a result, citizens will now be able to elect their own Mayor beginning in May of 2026. This was a monumental change in our Charter, and it was a direct result of my eagerness, dedication and tireless work to ensure voters had a greater voice in their local government. I am also the only candidate in this race who has made a campaign pledge to the citizens, ensuring them that I will vote “no” to all future tax increases. I am dedicated to easing the tax burden on our residents and property owners, and I am committed to serving this community with both passion and integrity.
