TAYLOR POLICE DEPARTMENT ARREST REPORT

It is important to note that an arrest should not be considered as evidence of guilt. The defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

APRIL 22

A 21-year-old Taylor man was taken into custody by officers from the Taylor Police Department after a traffic stop revealed he had an outstanding warrant out of Uvalde for smuggling of a person, a third-degree felony. The stop was initiated at 5:23 p.m. on the 100 block of FM 973.

APRIL 24

A 48-year-old Georgetown man returned home last week, albeit he spent the night in the Williamson County Jail instead of his residence. At 11:48 p.m., Taylor police responded to a call on the 6500 block of CR 101. The caller reported that a man tried to steal a vehicle on Samsung property while threatening the owner of the vehicle.

Although the man was gone upon officers’ arrival, he was tracked down on CR 101 and arrested on a second-degree felony charge of robbery.

APRIL 27

A 42-year-old Taylor man was taken into custody by Taylor police on three outstanding warrants and a fourth charge. At 12:13 p.m., Taylor police responded to a disturbance report on the 700 block of Lizzie St. An investigation revealed the man verbally threatened to shoot members of the household. Investigation also revealed the man had three warrants out of Taylor: one for assault by contact, a Class C misdemeanor; another for interference with emergency request for assistance, a Class A misdemeanor; and a third for failure to appear, a Class C misdemeanor. The man was placed under arrest for the warrants, and further charged with terroristic threat/family violence, a class A misdemeanor.
